Taking action against sexual assault

LANCASTER — This April marks the official 20th anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The annual campaign — signified by a teal ribbon — serves to bring awareness and education regarding sexual assault, victims rights, prevention, and resources.

Valley Oasis and Antelope Valley College hosted a day of action workshop Thursday morning in recognition of the campaign. Valley Oasis is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating social and domestic violence, and homelessness through community awareness, intervention, prevention, safe shelter, and supportive services.
