Advocating for Housing Justice Through Our Youth Action Board

At Valley Oasis, we are deeply committed to advocating for housing justice and empowering the next generation of leaders. Our Youth Action Board plays a pivotal role in driving change, as young people from diverse backgrounds come together to raise their voices, challenge injustices, and advocate for policies that ensure safe, affordable, and equitable housing for all. Through their dedication and activism, we are working towards a future where every young adult has access to the housing they deserve.

About the YYA SPA 1 Team

Our Youth Action Board, formally known as the Youth and Young Adult (YYA) SPA 1 team, was established in April 2023 with a group of six young adults between the ages of 18-30 that have lived experience in foster care, homelessness, and/or probation in efforts to advocate for housing justice for young adults in the Antelope Valley.

The team works alongside the Los Angeles Emissary to build connections among community-based organizations, local government, and key stakeholders, build consensus towards shared goals, and advocate for change.

Their Mission

Advocating for the establishment of a TAY shelter in the Antelope Valley to provide a safe and supportive environment for young adults in need. A shelter is vital in helping vulnerable youth to rebuild their lives. We want to help them pursue a brighter future!

Bring safe-parking options to the Antelope Valley, ensuring that young adults have access to secure and reliable parking facilities.
